I started working in legal recruitment in 2001 and have therefore encountered many different market landscapes and economic climates over the years (although I never thought I’d be adding a pandemic to the list!).
I have successfully run national and international recruitment campaigns, sat on recruitment panels, worked alongside HR to implement recruitment strategy, and have spoken at various industry-specific events.
There’s not a lot I haven’t seen or had experience of, so working on the trickiest of roles and advising candidates on their next career move is second nature to me.

Having worn many different hats over the years – candidate, agency recruiter, in-house recruiter, and client, I can offer a unique insight into the legal recruitment process.
My career started as a Regulatory solicitor, working for two of Leeds’ Big Six law firms – Walker Morris and Eversheds. I later moved into legal recruitment for a multinational recruitment agency, specialising in recruitment into private practice. I subsequently returned to Eversheds (then Eversheds Sutherland) as an in-house legal recruiter, having input into recruitment strategies on a national and international level and working very closely with the firm’s partners and HR team.
Haggerty Jaques was formed with the benefit of all of this first-hand knowledge and experience. I deeply understand the various factors and unique complexities involved in finding the right job or the right person for the job and there is nothing more satisfying than seeing it all come together.
Since its formation in 2019, we have been proud to volunteer as interview coaches for Smart Works Leeds. Smart Works dresses and trains unemployed women for success at their job interview.
Every woman who comes to Smart Works receives a complete outfit of clothes and accessories (hers to keep) and one-to-one interview coaching. Once a woman has a job, she is also invited back to give her a working wardrobe for her return to work.
